  • Dr. Lane Baldwin

Dr. Baldwin is an advocate for safer windows in homes to prevent childhood injuries and death. A large (and often unaddressed) environmental health consequence of climate change is window falls. With the rapid rise in summer temperatures and homes without air condition, this completely preventable injury affects over 3,300 children a year. Studies have found that these injuries disproportionately impact children in low income areas.

Fall prevention is easy with the installation of window guards or locks in addition to screens. Guards are cheaply and easily obtained, and many urban centers have seen large scale fall reductions simply by giving appropriate devices and education to landlords and property managers.

Bob is committed to addressing this problem.
